As a professional dancer, Erin Carpenter found herself in a series of embarrassing moments when wearing “skin toned” undergarments were required, but she could never find ones to match her own beautiful shade of brown. Equipped with the desire to redefine the term "nude" by making skin toned options for women of all shades, Carpenter founded Nude Barre, a women's line of skin toned intimates and hosiery, empowering women and allowing them to love their skin and body.
“I was always required to have nude or flesh tone tights and underwear for dance classes and jobs,” Carpenter told BLK OCEANS. “When I'd go to stores and ask for nude, they would give me options that came in beige. I'm not beige. Many companies offer four to five different shades at most. Nude Barre has 12 different shades to match every woman's skin tone.”

Currently, they offer seamless thongs, fishnets and both footed and convertible opaque tights for women and children, with more products on the horizon. From Irish Cream to Licorice, Nude Barre has the perfect shade to match and celebrate your unique skin tone.
If you are unsure of your specific color, the website allows you to order color swatches in all 12 nude shades for $6 to determine your match. This option is ideal for people purchasing for a large group (dance school, production, performance, etc.) or for personal use.

The company’s best-selling products are the fishnet tights which are both durable for active wear and stylish for fashion, making them a popular option among customers. They are also made with sustainability in mind and premium anti-cellulite material.
With growth in its future, Nude Barre will be expanding the current line to provide bralettes and bikini panties in all 12 shades of nude. These are now available for pre-order and will be fully in stock on the website soon.
“We are always working hard to expand what products we offer,” says Carpenter.
